November 2024’s Friends of Unity Blog hop ~ Gratitude

I’m so excited that you have joined us on our November blog hop that’s all about …you guessed it…Gratitude. I can’t put a number on how many things I am thankful for but the most important to me is ..over all things…My Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Without Him I’m lost and without purpose. Coming in second , of course, is my family. Everything and everyone after that just falls into place. I’m sure we all have a multitude of things we are so grateful for in our lives…like CRAFTING 😍😍.

Let’s get to the cards before I ramble on about all things wonderful lol.

I do love me some sunflowers…especially the multi colored ones. Autumn is my favorite season. The colored, the brisk morning air and the warm of a cup of coffee as the sun rises….complete perfection💛

I started coloring this sunflower on a day that I had no energy or creativity in my mind or body. Getting past a creative block hasn’t always been easy but just sitting down without any agenda or purpose seems to help me process through a tad bit faster than just ignoring my craft room, which I have done in the past…5 years worth of avoidance. Yikes I know right?!?

The die that I used for the background is called leafy frame from Say it with Stamps and dies by Becky Moore.

The inside stamp is from My favorite Things called Thoughtful Greetings.

On to the second card. PLOT TWIST:

I have to admit…I didn’t take as many pictures with my cards this month. My mind has been scattered and distracted so when I created my cards it was more for therapy than a purpose. Please forgive me for not being on point with my appointed tasks💛

Ok…I truly love the grunge vibe but for some reason I just don’t do a lot of it. I think I will have to change that because It reminds me that nothing is perfect…everything can get messy from time to time …and that’s OK. There is beauty in the process. The torn raggedy edges, the splatters of ink that cross the page, the stains that are permanently set in their place…they are all what makes the card what it is…held together with twine that adds a nuance of keeping things all together…even when it feels like it’s falling apart. It looks amazing and it truly is beautiful. The peace that comes from knowing that perfection isn’t required to be beautiful, to be kind, courageous, to be admired, to be loved, accepted or cherished is a gift beyond full understanding . This card is messy…my life is messy right now…but still beautiful nonetheless.

I stamped the Fall to Go coffee cups on hammermill cardstock. The three other background papers came in the brown paper bag so I’m not sure what paper pack the plaid one is from. The paper between the gray and the plaid was out through a spellbinders corrugated embossing folder. The button is also from the wonderful brown paper bag as well. The Big sentiment: Thankful and the small sub sentiment is from Papertreyink.

And last but not least…the third card

This card was made from those awesome papers that Unity gives as an application gift when you make an order…you know….the ones that come in that wonderful brown paper bag?

The colorful design paper is from the Fall waterfall splendor paper pack from Unity. The owl is the Ray of sunshine itty bitty. The tree limb is a sticker that came with the came in the paper bag. The contents of those bags…I’m telling you….they are amazing!

Well my crafty friends…I pray your days are filled with Love and peace💛

Until next month …stay crafty❣️
